Police Shut Down Italy's First Sex Doll Brothel

Newser — Luke Roney

After just nine days in operation, Italy's first and only sex doll brothel was raided and shut down by police. The establishment, located in Turin, allegedly violated laws related to renting accommodations, the Local reports.

Authorities also are looking into whether the "silicone sex workers"—which police seized in the raid—are cleaned properly after they are used, per RT, which adds that brothel owners say the dolls get a two-hour cleanup after each client.

The brothel features eight rooms where clients can spend some private time with one of eight "hyper-realistic" dolls (seven female, one male) for the price of $90 for a half-hour.

Amenities include beds, en-suite bathrooms, and TVs playing porn. The Turin brothel is a franchise of LumiDolls, according to reports, and there are also locations in Barcelona and Moscow.
