At least 10 people died after a passenger boat carrying about 70 people was wrecked on the Xingú River – a tributary of the Amazon – in Pará region, Brazil, late on August 22, according to government officials.The Comandante Ribeiro boat departed from the municipality of Santarém, bound for Vitória do Xingu, and was wrecked between the towns of Porto de Moz and Senador José Porfírio. The video here shows 10 bodies being transported on vehicles in Porto de Mez.According to the Secretariat of State for Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), at least 15 people survived. The agency said the recovery was being operated from the town of Porto de Mez. At least three people were killed after Typhoon Hato hit Macau on August 23, according to authorities cited by Reuters and other reports, as the severe weather caused flooding and damage to property.Roads were submerged in Macau and vehicles were covered in floodwater.
