NFLPA releases statement, reviewing all options regarding Elliott decisiontheScore
The NFLPA released a statement Wednesday after the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals lifted the preliminary injunction that blocked Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension, resulting in his sanction being reinstated by the NFL.
The Dallas Cowboys are currently on their bye week, but Elliott's suspension will be enforced effective immediately.
The statement reads as follows:
The NFLPA is reviewing the decision and considering all options. The appellate court decision focuses on the jurisdictional issues. The failures of due process by the NFL articulated in the District Court’s decision were not addressed.
Elliott's lawyer, Frank Salzano, also released the following statement defending his client:
We are currently exploring all of our legal options and will make a decision as to what is the best course of action in the next few days. Until that time we have no further comment on the 5th circuit's decision.
