NASCAR at Las Vegas: TV schedule, standings, qualifying drivers for Week 1 of the playoffs

Sporting News — (Thomas Lott)

NASCAR's playoffs kick off Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. have reigned supreme each of the last two years.

For Harvick, the man who finished second in the regular-season standings, he took home the victory earlier this season as part of a three-race win streak that started in Atlanta and finished in Phoenix.

For Truex, the 2017 NASCAR Cup champion, the win at Las Vegas last season was the first of seven wins on 1.5-mile tracks on the year. He continued that success into 2018, earning a victory at Kentucky and five more top-5 finishes on similar tracks.

This is the first race of the first round of NASCAR's playoffs. There will be two more (Richmond, Charlotte) before the field is cut to 12 drivers.

The SouthPoint 400 can be seen at 3 p.m. ET Sunday on NBCSN.
