A man who was on parole for killing three people in 1978 at the time he sexually assaulted, strangled and beat a Tyler woman to death in 1996 has had a date set for his execution next month. A burglary suspect who took Lindale law enforcement on a chase has been located and taken into custody, according to Smith County Constable Kenneth Bibby. The initial search started around 10 a.m. Monday on FM 2710 in Lindale following a report of a robbery.

UT Health Northeast in Tyler is providing a primary care and preventive services program to women ages 18 to 65. Daniel Deslatte, Associate President at UT Health Northeast, explained, "we know that a lot of our neighbors here in East Texas have trouble accessing primary care." Out of the 28 counties in Northeast Texas, all but two have shortages in primary care physicians.
