A group of Tyler lifeguards were in the right place at the right time and their emergency training paid off. They were on their way back from a class in Dallas Sunday when they pulled up on a major wreck on Interstate 20 between Hideaway and Van.

Tyler fire department says a clothes dryer caused a two-alarm structure fire Sunday night at 1714 Ridgeview Drive. The Tyler Fire Department responded to the call at 8:43 p.m. The caller reported seeing fire coming from the house.

An Overton man was arrested Monday morning after Smith County deputies say he burgled a home in southeastern Smith County. Deputies say they received a 911 call about a suspicious vehicle at a property in the 22500 block of County Road 26 near Overton.

Lee high schools achieving their current level of success. Orchestras at John Tyler and Robert E. Lee high schools, as well as in Tyler ISD middle schools, were formed in the 1979-80 school year.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department , the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department and Suddenlink have teamed up to bring family-friendly fishing to Tyler. Woldert Park Pond at 501 West 32nd Street is the newest location in TPWD's Neighborhood Fishin' Program , which stocks catchable-sized catfish every two weeks for most of the year and rainbow trout during the winter.
