A 39-year-old Tyler man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced today. Micol Jauron Sears pleaded guilty on Sep. 3, 2014 to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine and was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider.

Linda Sellers, 70, is the first to throw her hat in the ring for the open Tyler City Council District 1 seat in the May 9 election. The seat is wide open since incumbent Sam Mezayak is unable to run again because of term limits.
