Several fire crews are at the scene of an early morning house fire in Lindale. Smith County officials say it started around 3 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of N. Henry Rd., just off of Highway 69. Dispatchers say the house is heavily involved, but everyone inside did get out without any injuries.

Robert Ladd is scheduled to be executed Thursday for the 1996 death of a Tyler woman, but he is not the only East Texan on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's death row. There are nine other men and one woman from the area awaiting a scheduled date with death for crimes for which they were convicted.

Loud explosions rocked the area near Loop 49 and Old Jacksonville Highway Tuesday morning after a tractor-trailer and a Honda Accord collided, killing one and setting an 18-wheeler on fire. It was the first fatality accident on Loop 49 since the first section between South Broadway Avenue and Old Jacksonville Highway opened in 2006.

Tyler Junior College psychology and sociology instructor Dr. Deb Kelley assisting the East Texas Human Needs Network to conduct a Homeless Survey. This same survey was carried out in January of 2014 and the results showed that 257 homeless individuals live in Smith County and 37 of them children.
